Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé founded the iconic fashion house, which they would go on to run together for the next 40 years.

Describing his first fragrance, Monsieur Saint Laurent noted that he wanted to create a “lush, heavy, and languid perfume”.

CREATION OF THE FIRST LOVE CARDS

Inspired by Morocco, Monsieur Saint Laurent designed the first in a series of greeting cards that he would send to his friends and collaborators every year up until 2007.

LAUNCH OF RIVE GAUCHE AND POUR HOMME

It was Pour Homme in particular that caused a stir when Monsieur Saint Laurent decided to pose naked and bearded for the promotional photo, expressing a transgressive vision of masculine codes.
